Assam: 4-Year-Old Child Who Was Suspected Of Coronavirus, Tested Negative

The four-and-a-half-year-old child, who was tested positive for coronavirus at Jorhat Medical College Centre (JMCH) on Saturday, was declared negative by the Regional Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratory of the ICMR-RMRC in Lahowal, Dibrugarh on Sunday.

Guwahati: Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday confirmed that there is no COVID-19 positive case in Assam so far.

“The 4 year old child who was suspected of #covid19 and tested in Jorhat Medical College and RMRC, Dibrugarh has been found NEGATIVE. There is no Covid19 positive case in Assam so far,” Dr Sarma said while sharing the report.

The girl was admitted at JMCH on Friday. She and her family had come from Bihar on March 19.

Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Roshni A Korati on Saturday informed that the test run at JMCH laboratory has tested positive.

Following which the sample was sent for re-check at Regional Medical Research Center at Lahowal in Dubrugarh, where she was declared negative for COVID-19.
